Haas driver Nico Hulkenberg has admitted he might do something at the Las Vegas Grand Prix that he never normally does.

Hulkenberg was speaking to the club’s official website ahead of the penultimate race of the season.

It’s going to be a fascinating weekend with the events on the track being just as interesting as what goes on off it.

Every team would have been working extremely hard in the simulators to prepare as much as possible for the newest race on the F1 calendar.

However, there are certain factors such as track temperature and the track surface that could make it a fascinating race.

It means every driver needs to pay extra attention to their surroundings and potentially take extra steps to get familiar with the circuit.

Nico Hulkenberg has suggested he could even walk the track in Las Vegas which is something he very rarely does.

It will be a good workout as it’s now the second-longest circuit on the calendar behind Spa.

The walk down the Las Vegas Strip will be unlike anything any driver has experienced on a Formula 1 track in their career.

Speaking about how he’s prepared for the race, Hulkenberg said: “No driver will have had extensive preparation for this one, so practice is going to be important.

“I don’t normally do a track walk, so let’s see if I do one here, could be a unique way of seeing all the sights of the Vegas strip.”

Haas will be hoping that their recent fortunes change in Sin City.

They’re bottom of the Constructors’ Championship and the team will be running different specs on their cars this weekend.

They need to score four more points than Alfa Romeo to lift themselves off the bottom of the standings which would also earn them significantly more prize money.

Hulkenberg hasn’t scored points on a Sunday since Australia and although he’s ahead of Kevin Magnussen in the driver’s standings, neither driver will be happy with their points tally this year.

Anything could happen this weekend in Las Vegas and Haas may need a bit of a crazy race to come away with points.

Hulkenberg scouting the track could give him the small advantage he needs that makes all the difference.
