Max Verstappen has been tipped to team up with Gianpiero Lambiase again outside of Formula 1.
Since 2016, Lambiase has worked as Verstappen’s race engineer at Red Bull, playing a crucial role in helping the Dutchman win four F1 world titles.
The pair have also become one of the most respected and popular duos in the sport’s rich history.
Last week, it was confirmed that Lambiase will leave Red Bull in 2028 and join McLaren as Chief Racing Officer.
The 45-year-old is set to be the latest addition to Red Bull’s ever-growing list of high-profile exits, joining the likes of Christian Horner, Adrian Newey, Rob Marshall and Jonathan Wheatley.

Max Verstappen tipped to team up with Gianpiero Lambiase again outside of F1
Speaking recently to RacingNews365, Dutch racing driver Jeroen Bleekemolen claimed that Verstappen ‘will definitely’ want to work with Lambiase again. He went on to say that the pair could even team up outside of F1.
Bleekemolen said: “I think he is very real about that. Lambiase received an offer he couldn’t let go. That makes sense, it’s a lot of money. A new opportunity with a new position.
“And Max says it very well: ‘They have already achieved everything together’. They are just friends and they will always be. Sometimes things just go like this, then you break up. Those men have so much respect for each other, and you can tell in everything.
“I think he will definitely want to work with a Lambiase again in the future. That could be, for example, Le Mans or another racing class. That is not illogical.
“They know each other through and through and they also have a good time with each other. If in the future, who knows, they can do Le Mans together, that would be fantastic.”

What did Max Verstappen say about Gianpiero Lambiase’s move to McLaren?
Attending an event in Amsterdam on Thursday evening, Verstappen was asked about Lambiase’s decision to leave Red Bull for McLaren.
As reported by Dutch news outlet De Telegraaf, Verstappen revealed: “He told me what kind of offer he got. I said you’d be stupid not to do that. We have already achieved everything together.
“And then he gets such a great offer, also with an eye to his family and the security he gets from it.
“He asked me for some kind of permission, and I told him to be 100% sure. He wanted to hear that from my mouth.”
