Red Bull set to bring more ‘significant’ upgrade to Austrian GP that tackles a long standing issue
According to Erik van Haren of De Telegraaf, Red Bull have planned a major upgrade package for the Austrian Grand Prix weekend.
Red Bull had already introduced a sizable upgrade package at the Miami Grand Prix, which improved their performance significantly.
However, this upgrade package is said to be even more extensive, and will tackle one of their biggest issues this season – weight.
Red Bull’s car is overweight this season, and they’ve been trying to cut weight from the car for many months now.
But this new package is set to cut 12 kilograms and bring the car under the 768 kg weight limit, thus giving Red Bull and Max Verstappen a huge edge.
The report also states that these upgrades could be crucial in convincing Verstappen to commit his future to Red Bull, something the team have been trying to convince him to do.

Max Verstappen might get a huge lifeline this season if new upgrades work
Verstappen has made it no secret that he isn’t happy with the way Red Bull’s car has performed this season, even with the recent improvements.
But if these new upgrades end up being effective, it could give Verstappen a huge boost. Verstappen has gotten the most out of Red Bull’s car over the last few years.
Furthermore, we’ve seen what he can do when he has a competitive car, as his four consecutive world championship wins are proof of his ability.
What was set to be an important weekend for Red Bull has now turned into a season-defining one for the team.
