There’s nothing that sums up the glitz and glamour of the Las Vegas Grand Prix more than Paris Hilton sending McLaren driver Lando Norris a message after the race.

Norris took to social media to confirm that he was fine after a huge crash in the opening laps of last weekend’s Grand Prix.

The 24-year-old made an ominous prediction just before the race that the track wasn’t easy to drive on.

It had been a very tough weekend for McLaren up to that point.

They appeared to be one of the teams that were most affected by the lack of practice time on track heading into qualifying.

The conditions didn’t suit their car and both drivers were eliminated in Q1.

Norris and Oscar Piastri quickly made up positions on the opening lap, avoiding the chaos going into turn one.

However, just a few laps later, Norris was in the barrier and brought out the first safety car of the race.

Norris was taken to hospital after his crash in Las Vegas and received plenty of messages when he declared he was OK, including from Paris Hilton.

Considering Justin Beiber waved the chequered flag and Martin Brundle bumped into Shaquille O’Neal and Zlatan Ibrahimovic on the grid, this shouldn’t come as a surprise.

It’ll be interesting to see just how big a Formula 1 fan she really is.

It’s hard to imagine her turning up at pre-season testing in Bahrain next February.

Posting on Instagram after the Grand Prix, Norris said: “Rough day. Big impact. But feeling okay! Thanks for all the messages, see you next weekend.”

His McLaren colleague Pato O’Ward replied: “Even I felt that through the screen. Good to see you are ok bro!! See you next weekend.”

While Paris Hilton simply said: “Love you bro!”

Norris has been in superb form in the second half of this season, arguably being the best driver on the grid behind Max Verstappen.

He’s still chasing that first Grand Prix win but it feels like a matter of time until he stands on the top step of the podium.

It shows just how far Formula 1 has come in recent years that Paris Hilton is sending Lando Norris messages after a Saturday night race in Las Vegas.

It’s very much the direction the sport is going in under Liberty Media whether fans like it or not.
