Formula 1 has taken to Hollywood with the latest summer blockbuster starring Brad Pitt and helped produced by Lewis Hamilton.
Produced by the same people who made Top Gun: Maverick, seven-time world champion Hamilton helped with the production of the movie.
Brad Pitt was impressed by how much Hamilton contributed to the realism of the film, with him advising the scriptwriters on how racing sequences should be conducted.
Taking to the social media website Instagram, former teammate George Russell sent a message of support, which received a response from Hamilton.

Hamilton has been a key consultant on the film, having also advised them on lines of dialogue and pushing for a diverse cast.
Filming for the movie took place during actual F1 weekends across the 2023 and 2024 seasons, with Pitt revealing that the actors received some flack from Mercedes and Ferrari during the first day on set.
Having now seen the film on a few separate occasions, Russell gave his thoughts and praised Hamilton with the seven-time world champion offering a response.
Russell’s message: “Lewis, thanks for all the efforts you’ve done for the sport and this movie man, super cool!”

F1 film garners mixed response from filmgoers
The film has received worldwide critical acclaim, with it scoring over 80% on the Rotten Tomatoes review aggregator since it launched in cinemas.
However, it has also received a mixed response from those within the F1 world who have been critical of the film’s plot.
Specifically, some of the sequences rely too heavily on creative license rather than staying true to what actually happens during a Grand Prix.
The film itself is designed to cater to new audiences, which is why the producers were keen to get the technicalities right to appease each audience base that would see the movie.
