Lando Norris has been quizzed in hilarious fashion about his priorities as the McLaren driver begins to take up new hobbies following the end of the 2023 Formula 1 season.

The 24-year-old was one of the best drivers on the grid this year as he helped McLaren turn their season around. But his attention is now shifting away from Formula 1 before Norris gets set for the longest season ever. F1 will contest a record-breaking 24-race calendar in 2024.

Norris and the 19 other Formula 1 drivers also barely have a winter break before pre-season testing starts. The drivers will hit the track again on February 29 in Bahrain, just 101 days on from the Abu Dhabi GP. It will be Norris’ sixth season in F1 as the Briton hunts for a first win.

Lando Norris had the McLaren driver’s best F1 season so far in 2023

Despite McLaren starting 2023 with one of the worst cars on the grid, this year proved to be Norris’ best season in Formula 1 to date. The Bristol-born talent claimed a personal-best 205 points from 22 rounds. He also stood on the podium for seven Grand Prix and in two Sprints.

Yet in a bid to briefly shut off from Formula 1 following the end of this season, Norris joined Twitch streamers Angry Ginge and Yung Filly to play Fortnite. But it led to a hilarious chat as Angry Ginge quizzed Norris about his priorities when the McLaren driver started to eat nuts.

Norris annoyed Angry Ginge by eating nuts whilst playing Fortnite, with the Twitch streamer likening it to the McLaren racer eating during a Formula 1 race. A clip from the exchange has also gone viral on TikTok, with Angry Ginge and Yung Filly’s followers loving their interaction.

Yung Filly sparked their exchange when he asked Norris: “So, you don’t want to apologise for eating?”. To which Angry Ginge added: “No, no, no. Let me ask him this question, Filly, cos I know you’re just as intrigued as I am.

“Lando, let’s put a scenario in place. You’re sat there in your car driving for F1, would you eat a packet of nuts, then? Yes or no?”

Norris flatly replied, ‘No’, as Filly erupted in laughter at Angry Ginge’s question. Angry Ginge then continued: “No, you wouldn’t. So, why are you looking at these Fortnite games as less important than an F1 race?

“Cos I don’t know what’s going on here. But I know where I rank for Fortnite games and let me tell you, it’s very, very above the F1 race.”

Norris came back at Angry Ginge, noting: “Yeah, that’s your opinion, right?” Yung Filly then rounded out their exchange, adding: “Ginge is just the gift that keeps on giving.”

Angry Ginge has over 600,000 followers on the streaming platform, Twitch, while Yung Filly has over 1.5 million subscribers on YouTube. Norris, on the other hand, has a following of in excess of seven million on Instagram and 2.5 million on X – the platform once called Twitter.
