Karun Chandhok failed to mention Lewis Hamilton when asked for his Mount Rushmore of Formula 1 drivers.

The discussion regarding the greatest Formula 1 drivers of all time has historically been a hotly debated topic from figures inside and outside of the paddock.

Many have argued between Lewis Hamilton, Michael Schumacher, and Ayrton Senna, but in a recent interview, Sky Sports analyst Karun Chandhok failed to name one of the three drivers.

The Indian driver competed in Formula 1 for half of the 2010 season for the Hispania Racing F1 Team, but he failed to score a point during his time in the sport.

Karun Chandhok’s Mount Rushmore of Formula 1 drivers

During a quick-fire round of questions in an interview with Lucas Stewart, Chandhok was asked for his Mount Rushmore of Formula 1 drivers.

The former Formula 1 driver named four World Champions, but notably did not mention Lewis Hamilton, in favour of Michael Schumacher, Alain Prost, Ayrton Senna, and Jim Clark.

Chandhok stated that his Mount Rushmore is, “Jim Clark, Alain Prost, Ayrton Senna, and Michael Schumacher.”

When asked for his favourite moment from his racing career and for his idol growing up, Chandhok revealed that Prost was his ideal when he was young, and his favourite moment from his career came whilst he was in GP2.

Chandhok said, “Winning the GP2 race in Spa in 2007… Alain Prost.”

Lewis Hamilton is doing something ‘legendary’ in 2026

The 2026 Formula 1 season marks Lewis Hamilton’s 20th season in the category, and his second year as a driver for Ferrari, which has gotten off to a strong start.

At the opening round of the season at the Australian Grand Prix, Hamilton finished in fourth place, just behind his teammate, Charles Leclerc, who was in third place.

However, at the second round of the season at the Shanghai International Circuit, Hamilton was back on a Formula 1 podium as he finished in third place, an achievement which Jolyon Palmer labelled as ‘legendary’.

Anthony Davidson made similar observations at the Chinese Grand Prix, as he watched Hamilton return to doing what he ‘loves’ doing, hunting down a race leader.
