The final three rounds of the 2025 Formula 1 season are now upon us, and Jenson Button has shared his predictions for the upcoming race weekend in Las Vegas, as well as the name of the driver he thinks will fly home in possession of the drivers’ championship.
Lando Norris heads to Sin City with a 24-point advantage over his McLaren counterpart, Oscar Piastri, whilst Max Verstappen still circles below both drivers in third place as he looks to eat into the 49-point deficit that the British driver holds over him.
Red Bull have continued to upgrade their RB21, and have a new development in store for the Dutchman in Nevada.
The Las Vegas Strip Circuit is regarded as one of McLaren’s weakest tracks on the F1 calendar, so Verstappen will be hoping to shift the momentum back into his own favour with such a limited pool of points still remaining.

Jenson Button shares who he thinks will win the Las Vegas Grand Prix
In a recent episode of Sky Sports F1’s The F1 Show podcast, Jenson Button shared his predictions for the upcoming race weekend with David Croft.
The commentator gave his verdict on who will take the chequered flag, predicting that Mercedes’ high-flying George Russell will be able to replicate his feat of last year and secure back-to-back wins at the Las Vegas Grand Prix.
In response, Button identified Verstappen as the man he thinks will stand on the top step of the podium. Russell’s win on the streets of Las Vegas was overshadowed by the Dutchman, who managed to secure his fourth world title with a fifth-place finish.
Looking ahead to the races that succeed the Las Vegas GP, Button and Croft also opined on the winners of the Qatar Grand Prix.
Croft started by saying, “Qatar for me is a McLaren track, any day of the week.”
To which Button responded, “Yeah, and it might be that the racetrack that Oscars maximises what he’s got. It might be a race where Oscar can get the best out of the car.
“It’s a track he’s always gone so well at, and I want to see him fighting Lando, come on! So I think I’m going to say Oscar in Qatar.”
Croft then added, “Oscar for Qatar. Keep it alive until Abu Dhabi, and then the winner takes all. I’m not going to make any predictions about Abu Dhabi.
“I don’t see the point. You never know what’s gonna happen there, quite frankly.”

Who will win the 2025 Las Vegas Grand Prix
Jenson Button also gave his verdict on whether Lando Norris will beat Oscar Piastri to the 2025 F1 title
The 2009 world champion also gave his opinion on which of the two championship protagonists will leave the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix in December as a newly-crowned world champion, saying, “You’d have to say at the moment, Lando is favourite.
“First of all, he’s leading the championship, but secondly, the performances are there. It’s been really impressive. So, yeah, there’s no reason not to say Lando at this moment.”
Croft thinks the title will swing the other way, however, replying to Button’s verdict by saying, “In the style of a bad golfer who always believes there’s a good hole coming at some stage during the course of a round, I’m going to go Oscar for the championship.
“I’ve been tipping him all year on this one, and I’m not, I am so stubborn, I’m not gonna change it now because I still think there’s a bit more to come this year.”
