The British Grand Prix created even more conversation about the future of the Red Bull Racing line-up.
Sergio Perez is a man under pressure and wasn’t helped by yet another disappointing weekend at the British Grand Prix where he missed out on scoring points once again.
A mistake in qualifying meant he was going to start on the back row before deciding to start from the pit lane, but he still could only come home in 17th after a disastrous strategy call.
Max Verstappen isn’t under pressure at Red Bull, but Mercedes would love to sign Verstappen at some point in the future after losing Lewis Hamilton to Ferrari.
In the sister Visa Cash App RB team, Daniel Ricciardo is the only driver in the Red Bull quartet without a contract for 2025.
Ricciardo knows what he needs to do to avoid being replaced by reserve driver Liam Lawson, but his future is far from certain as well.
Lawson has a clause in his current Red Bull deal guaranteeing him a 2025 seat or a way out of the team, with Audi potentially interested in Lawson’s services next year.
However, the one driver who seems to be unaffected by all of this speculation is Yuki Tsunoda.
A report from Autosport has shared how Red Bull feel about potentially promoting Tsunoda amid growing uncertainty surrounding Perez’s future.
The 24-year-old already has a deal for 2025 with RB, but that doesn’t guarantee very much in the Red Bull set-up.

How Red Bull view Yuki Tsunoda amid uncertainty surrounding Sergio Perez’s future
While volatility swirls around Tusnoda within the Red Bull group, the Japanese driver is quietly going about his business.
RB brought an important upgrade to the Spanish Grand Prix, but it doesn’t appear to have had the desired effect.
They were hoping to leapfrog Aston Martin as the fifth-quickest team on the grid but have once again be dragged into the midfield battle for the final points each weekend.
That’s exactly what Tsunoda delivered, finishing 10th – Ricciardo was 14th – and scoring the final point of the race.

He was leapfrogged by Nico Hulkenberg and Lance Stroll in the Drivers’ Championship but once again maximised what he could do in the car he was provided.
The report from Autosport talks about the options Red Bull have at their disposal if they want to replace Sergio Perez during the mid-season break.
Although Ricciardo has been outperformed by Tsunoda this year, his previous experience at Red Bull gives him an advantage.
However, while Red Bull recognise that Tsunoda has ‘natural speed’, it’s believed that he’s still not convinced senior management within the team that he has what it takes to deal with the pressure that would come with fighting for Formula 1 victories.
What does the future hold for Yuki Tsunoda’s Formula 1 career?
If Red Bull continue to overlook Tsunoda as a potential option for their leading team, then questions have to be asked about how long he should continue driving for RB.
The volatility of the driver’s market this year saw Tsunoda linked to several seats elsewhere in the paddock.
However, the security of staying with RB – and the chance to potentially earn a promotion in the future – are two good enough reasons to stay for now.
Unless Red Bull’s attitude towards Tsunoda changes, he’s going to be stuck with their sister team which isn’t an ideal solution for either party.
Red Bull will want to start promoting more of their young talent with Isack Hadjar and Arvid Lindblad both impressing in Formula 2 and Formula 3 at Silverstone and Liam Lawson patiently waiting for his next opportunity.
Meanwhile, Tsunoda will want to earn the chance to drive for a team regularly challenging for more than just the last few points each weekend.
