Franco Colapinto has been popular figure within the Formula 1 paddock since replacing American Logan Sargeant at Williams.
The 21-year-old made his debut at the Italian Grand Prix in September and within a few weeks, he managed to outscore Sargeant’s career points total by finishing eighth at the Azerbaijan GP.
More points were scored by Franco Colapinto most recently US GP after he pulled off overtakes from the eighth row of the grid, including Fernando Alonso in the Aston Martin.
He also held the fastest lap of the race, but that was later taken away from Esteban Ocon as both retaliation for the collision with teammate Alex Albon at the start and to help Alpine in the Constructors’ battle for eighth.
Few could have predicted just how well Colapinto has performed since he joined the team, however, it appears that his future beyond this season might be in doubt.

Franco Colapinto could get support from Liberty Media
Journalist Franco Nugues said the Argentine has earned a lot of respect in the F1 paddock and expects to see further interest.
“In just a few races he has earned a lot of respect and that goes beyond Williams, therefore he is one of those guys observed by the other teams,” said Nugues.
In response to the claim, Ceccarelli added: “I think so. In the package there could also be Liberty’s interest in having a driver representing South America.”
