Former Formula 1 driver Hans-Joachim Stuck is ‘100%’ convinced that Mercedes will replace Lewis Hamilton with Sebastian Vettel.

The four-time F1 world champion last drove for Aston Martin before walking away at the end of the 2022 season.

Speaking to Eurosport.de, Stuck has suggested that the 36-year-old is ‘bored’ now he’s no longer racing.

Stuck convinced Sebastian Vettel will drive for Mercedes

There are plenty of drivers who would love to replace Lewis Hamilton at Mercedes in 2025.

His move to Ferrari has shaken up the driver market, especially with so many racers out of contract at the end of this season.

Fernando Alonso is on the list of potential replacements and Aston Martin’s unspectacular start to the season might play a part in his decision-making.

The exciting young talent Andrea Kimi Antonelli is another option, but Carlos Sainz can’t be discounted either after losing his seat to Hamilton.

However, Hans-Joachim Stuck believes that it will be Sebastian Vettel who drives for Mercedes next season.

He stepped away from his role from his role with the Grand Prix Drivers’ Association leaving George Russell as the only representative currently on the grid.

Eddie Jordan has suggested the four-time champion would be a good replacement for Hamilton, but would he be the same driver as the one who was unstoppable for Red Bull if he drove for Mercedes in 2025?

Vettel on the radar as Hamilton replacement

Speaking about the 36-year-old, Stuck said: “Sebastian Vettel will be driving for Mercedes next year.

“He’s bored and would have another chance with a great team. In my opinion, Vettel will drive 100% for Mercedes.”

Vettel wouldn’t be the first German driver to come out of retirement to drive for Mercedes as Stuck has predicted.

Michael Schumacher famously returned to F1 to drive for the Silver Arrows alongside Nico Rosberg when they made their comeback in the sport back in 2010.

While he couldn’t add to his illustrious collection of wins, he did achieve one last podium in his final season in 2012.

Vettel will hope if he does return, he’ll have a more successful spell than the legendary German.
