Guenther Steiner suspects that Charles Leclerc will be jumping on the Lewis Hamilton ‘bandwagon’ after his recent results.
Since the 2026 Formula 1 season began back in March, it has been clear to see that Hamilton looks like a different driver compared to the one who struggled last year.
The seven-time world champion is clearly much happier with the SF-26, and his results have been impressive.
After back-to-back P2 finishes in Canada and Monaco, Hamilton won the Barcelona Grand Prix, securing his maiden victory for the Scuderia.
While Hamilton celebrated his win, it was another tough afternoon for Leclerc, who was forced to retire due to a suspected hydraulic problem.
Following two consecutive DNFs, Leclerc is currently trailing Hamilton by 40 points.

Guenther Steiner suspects Charles Leclerc will now jump on the ‘Lewis Hamilton bandwagon’
Reacting to Leclerc’s recent poor results, Steiner claimed that the Monegasque will now be jumping on the ‘Lewis Hamilton bandwagon’.
The former Haas team boss also said that this could be a ‘wake up call’ Leclerc needed in order to get better.
Steiner said on The Red Flags podcast: “I think Charles blamed himself for it. I mean, for sure, Charles is not in a happy place in the moment; he will be at home, not happy.
“But sometimes, you need this wake-up call to get better as well. We all know that Charles can drive a race car, and in the end it could be good for Ferrari if they’ve got two drivers who can win.
“I think Charles is a very fast race car driver. I think Charles is also clever. He will jump on the bandwagon, on the Lewis Hamilton bandwagon.
“We had it in Monte Carlo, he said ‘I want what Lewis had on his car, the brakes. I need to go that direction’.
“Obviously, I think they gave him the confidence that what Lewis does is good and now he has to use what Lewis does and maybe take a step back to make two forward.”

Guenther Steiner urges Ferrari to ‘stay grounded’ despite recent upturn in form
Having appeared to close the gap to Mercedes, Ferrari are now emerging as serious title contenders.
However, Steiner has urged the Scuderia to ‘stay grounded’ and concentrate on improving instead of overcelebrating Hamilton’s victory in Barcelona.
He said: “For me, the biggest thing is just to stay grounded, you know, everybody should stay grounded. We had a very good race, but we cannot say that after one race that this is normality. It still needs to be proven.
“They showed they can do it; they’ve got a good team together. Fred is taking the right direction, but just now, stay united and keep on working on it and try to do more of the same.”
