Lewis Hamilton was congratulated by George Russell and Lando Norris after taking his first win for Ferrari at the Barcelona-Catalunya Grand Prix.
Hamilton made arguably the biggest transfer in F1 history when he joined Ferrari at the start of last year, but the first season descended into a nightmare as he failed to score a single podium.
But the seven-time world champion had already shown signs of a revival this year with three podiums in six races. After back-to-back second places, he went one better in Barcelona.

Russell started on pole, with Hamilton alongside him on the front row. The Mercedes driver held off his former teammate, but they would later diverge on strategy.
Hamilton went with ‘plan C’ in the form of a three-stop, while Russell and Mercedes opted to pit twice.
The Silver Arrows were on course to retain track position until Fernando Alonso pulled over, triggering a virtual safety car that gave Hamilton a cheap stop. The 41-year-old emerged in the lead and cruised to victory.

Despite the element of misfortune in his second place, Russell was magnanimous in his parc ferme interview.
“First, huge congrats to this guy because I know how hard he works and obviously we spent a lot of years together at Mercedes, so very pleased to see him back to the Lewis I remember watching growing up,” he said.
He later added: “Yesterday was a real surprise to us in the team. The pace today was insane from Lewis. Yeah, they’re coming, I think.”

Third-place finisher and reigning world champion Lando Norris also paid tribute to Hamilton: “First of all I want to congratulate Lewis, nice to see him back on top. I’m very happy for you mate.”
Despite the success of the trio, it’s the first time since 1968 that the podium has been made up exclusively of British drivers.
