The Australian Grand Prix was Lewis Hamilton’s first race without Riccardo Adami at Ferrari, and Formula 1 fans are already loving the change.

2025 was a frustrating season for Hamilton and the Tifosi as he was often seen clashing with Adami over the radio. The pair were never truly on the same wavelength, as the Italian could not relay the correct information to his driver.

For 2026, the seven-time champion has made multiple changes behind the scenes. Hamilton and Adami have parted ways this season, with the latter taking up a role in the Ferrari driver academy, and F1 fans are already noticing a positive difference.

Former McLaren engineer Cedric Grosjean is set to replace Adami in 2026, but it is reported that he may not be available until the Miami GP. Subsequently, Kimi Raikkonen’s former race engineer, Carlo Santi, is standing in as interim.

The Australian Grand Prix was Hamilton’s first race weekend working with Santi, and he helped guide the Brit to P4 behind teammate Charles Leclerc in third. It was a hugely positive weekend for Ferrari, especially on Hamilton’s side on the pit wall.

Throughout the race, Santi was heard giving the right amount of information to Hamilton and clearly followed instructions. There were some small things to iron out, but all in all, it was a smooth weekend for the pair.

It may have been only one race, but Santi proved dropping Adami was the right call from Ferrari. That was made evident from his final radio message, where he praised Hamilton for a strong second stint.

“I love that he communicates well,” said one user. Another echoed: “Solid comms, solid stint. It was very good for Lewis’ confidence.”

“Damn Santi is doing great,” said another impressed fan. Finally, one fan even called for Ferrari to keep him alongside Hamilton: “Okay I think we can keep Santi for now.”
