Ferrari’s secret car issue has finally been revealed after Charles Leclerc refused to talk about it

Ferrari has been putting in a lot of effort in a bid to catch rivals McLaren on track, but they have often fell short in recent race weekends.

Lewis Hamilton has yet to break into the top three positions on the grid, with a highest finishing position of fourth, while Charles Leclerc finished in second at this year’s Monaco Grand Prix.

Ferrari’s results have been a mixed bag despite regular upgrades to the SF-25, with the team having to deal with excessive plank wear problems before a rear suspension upgrade that is planned for the Belgian Grand Prix.

Hamilton said his car was “very hard” to drive at Silverstone, while Leclerc struggled to generate any tyre temperatures in the wet track conditions.

On top of that, both drivers have complained about a nondescript problem with the car, but according to a report from Motorsport.it, they may have finally fixed the issue that has impacted both Hamilton and Leclerc.

Ferrari fix issue with power steering on SF-25

Hamilton has been tight-lipped when he’s been asked to elaborate on Ferrari’s car problems by the media, particularly after the team has dealt with problems in the races.

While their results in the last two races have not been dramatically bad, it’s clear Ferrari is not where they expected to be at the start of the season off the back of challenging for the Constructors’ Championship.

According to the report from Motorsport.it, the problem relates to the power steering system, particularly as the drivers go through the high speed corners where a lot of G-force is generated.

The feedback from the steering wheel is not optimal for either driver, and only emerges when they “push to the maximum” and put strain on the mechanical elements according to the report.

Ferrari drivers dealing with similar issue that McLaren had to fix for Lando Norris

The problem facing both Leclerc and Hamilton seems to be not too dissimilar from what McLaren had to fix for Lando Norris.

The Briton received an upgrade to the front suspension system at the Canadian Grand Prix, which was aimed at giving him more feedback through the front axle.

The results have been clear to see, with Norris now far closer to Oscar Piastri than what he was before the race in Montreal.

Norris is also making fewer mistakes, as he bids to close the gap in the Drivers’ Championship at the halfway point of the season.
