The 2025 Formula 1 season will see Oliver Bearman finally make his full debut after two impressive performances this year.
Oliver Bearman will drive for Haas next year alongside Esteban Ocon who has been signed from Alpine.
However, Bearman has already made his unexpected F1 debut when you stepped in at the last minute for Carlos Sainz at the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix.
The young Brit performed admirably, scoring six points for Ferrari before returning to Formula 2 where his campaign hasn’t gone to plan.
He’s been convincingly beaten by teammate and Mercedes reserve driver Kimi Antonelli and currently sits 15th in the championship.
Bearman has missed two race weekends in F2 though after Haas called him up to replace the suspended Kevin Magnussen in Baku when he nabbed another point for his future team.
However, Bearman will still technically be a Ferrari driver when he races for Haas full-time in 2025 and Joe Saward has shared on his blog what will happen if the Italian team need to call on him again.
Haas will be given the chance to use another Ferrari driver in his place, and it’s expected that they’ll be able to call up Antonio Giovinazzi, who has been racing in the World Endurance Championship this year.

Haas can call up Antonio Giovinazzi if Ferrari need Oliver Bearman next season
Giovinazzi will be a familiar name to Formula 1 fans having briefly made his debut for Sauber in 2017.
The 30-year-old was then handed a permanent race seat by Alfa Romeo in 2019 and spent three seasons with the Italian manufacturer.
Giovinazzi scored 21 points during his time in F1 before he and Kimi Raikkonen were replaced by Valtteri Bottas and Zhou Guanyu in 2022 and that line-up remains to his day.

The report from Saward says that Ferrari are going to lose both of their reserve drivers with Bearman joining Haas and Robert Shwartzman – who has taken part in two FP1 sessions for Sauber this year – set to move to IndyCar.
He believes Dino Beganovic is too inexperienced to step into that role, meaning Bearman will still be available to Ferrari should Charles Leclerc or new driver Lewis Hamilton be unavailable.
In this scenario, Ferrari would need to find Haas a replacement and Giovinazzi – who acted as Haas’s reserve driver in 2022 – would be the man they could call upon.
Oliver Bearman’s latest F1 outing didn’t go to plan
Bearman’s career in the junior formulas has been very impressive and it’s no wonder he’s been backed by Ferrari for so long.
His F2 campaign this year has arguably been his most disappointing, although as he and Franco Colapinto have proven, it’s becoming increasingly difficult to judge a driver on their form in that series.

However, Bearman currently sits above the likes of Colapinto, Ocon and Liam Lawson in the F1 Drivers’ Championship.
Bearman was given his first FP1 outing in a Ferrari at the Mexico City Grand Prix but it didn’t last long.
He was handed Leclerc’s SF-24 but was crashed into by Alex Albon after he lost control of his Williams coming out of turn 10.
Bearman was criticised by a Ferrari colleague for his role in Albon’s crash, but the stewards didn’t place the blame on the 19-year-old.
It would be far from ideal for Haas to lose Bearman at short notice next season if Ferrari need him, but at least they would be able to call up a driver with plenty of F1 experience.
