Ferrari are reportedly expected to bring ‘at least half’ a new car to the Miami Grand Prix as they look to close the gap to Mercedes.
After what was a torrid 2025, Ferrari have made a promising start to the 2026 Formula 1 season.
Both Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton have looked much more comfortable in the SF-26, having scored at least one podium finish each.
Despite the early-season form, the Scuderia are still some way off the Mercedes pair of Kimi Antonelli and George Russell, who have dominated the first three races.
With the Miami Grand Prix getting underway next week, it has been claimed that Ferrari are set to unveil a much-changed version of the SF-26.

Ferrari set to bring ‘at least half’ a new car to the Miami Grand Prix
According to Italian news outlet Corriere della Sera, Ferrari are ‘expected to bring at least half a modified car’ to the Miami Grand Prix weekend.
It has been suggested that the SF-26 will be fitted with a new front wing and an ‘advanced’ chassis. The new parts are said to be fitted during the team’s filming day in Monza on Wednesday.
The report stated that the new parts could gain Ferrari ‘a few tenths’ as they continue their bid to fight Mercedes at the front of the grid.
Other teams are also believed to be bringing upgrades to Miami, with McLaren also expected to make several changes to the MCL40.
Meanwhile, it has been claimed that Red Bull are ‘banking heavily’ on their ‘emergency package’ which could ‘stabilise’ the RB22.
However, the report stated that although rival teams are looking to bring the fight to Mercedes, the Silver Arrows are set to remain the dominant force for the time being.

No decision yet on Lewis Hamilton’s long-term race engineer
Following the first three races, it was expected that Hamilton could get a new race engineer at the Miami Grand Prix.
However, the report from Corriere della Sera stated that a decision is yet to be made by Ferrari.
Currently, Carlo Santi has acted as Hamilton’s race engineer, following the decision to move Riccardo Adami to a different role on the back of the 2025 season.
Previously, it was reported that Ferrari had selected Cedric Grosjean as Hamilton’s new engineer. Grosjean previously worked at McLaren and was Oscar Piastri’s performance engineer.
In truth, Ferrari need to decide on Hamilton’s race engineer sooner rather than later, especially after the Brit’s promising start to the 2026 season.
