Ferrari are in turmoil on and off the track as they risk a poor end to the 2025 season and losing their star driver Charles Leclerc.
The Maranello outfit are still without a win in 2025 as they struggle to find the right balance with the SF-25. The Singapore Grand Prix was another disappointing weekend as Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton could only bring home 12 points.
The former finished sixth as he struggled to make up ground on the frontrunners. Leclerc was instructed to let his teammate through late in the race so he could challenge Kimi Antonelli, but Hamilton suffered brake failure and dropped back to P7, later to P8 due to track limit infringements.

Leclerc lamented Hamilton’s ‘very difficult situation’ as Ferrari again struggled to maximise their weekend. The team are falling further behind their rivals as they battle for second in the constructors’ championship.
Leclerc says Ferrari are the fourth-best team at the moment; a bleak admission that comes amid reports that he is considering his future in Maranello. The whole atmosphere around the team appears to be in crisis.

Ferrari face ‘never-ending crisis’ as several departments are ‘strained’ behind the scenes
With no wins and just five podiums in 2025 – all courtesy of Leclerc – Ferrari have planned ‘serious’ meetings behind the scenes with key personnel. Little has worked for the team this season, from operational decisions to upgrades and development.
Ferrari ‘ignored’ Leclerc and Hamilton’s wishes for aerodynamic upgrades, instead focusing on the rear suspension to solve their problems with ride height. However, this has now caused the car to not respond to setup changes.
Leclerc is losing patience at Ferrari, referring to the team as ‘passengers’ in Singapore, as Mercedes and Red Bull have made a step forward to challenge McLaren. In a report from La Gazzetta dello Sport, this paints a ‘discouraging picture’, especially for 2026.
Ahead of the new technical regulations, there is a ‘lack of a unified plan’ for next season. Furthermore, various departments’ relationships in Maranello are ‘strained’, which runs the risk of their drivers considering their options as the team faces a ‘never-ending crisis’.

Ferrari could lose Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton at the end of 2026
Hamilton is out of contract in 2026, but he has the option to extend his deal by a further year. The 40-year-old could retire from F1 at the end of next season if he does not see any improvement at Ferrari under the new regulations.
Recent reports have now suggested that his teammate is also looking elsewhere. Leclerc has been speaking to Mercedes over a possible move for 2027.
Leclerc’s camp have contacted Aston Martin, while Red Bull are also rumoured to be after his signature. The Monegasque driver is unhappy with Ferrari, having not secured a title in seven seasons with the team.
Ferrari now face a desperate situation as they must improve all aspects of their operation. If they cannot, there is a reality where they may field an entirely different driver pairing in 2027.
