Ferrari have broken many of their long-standing records this year, and the biggest of them all may be within sight soon.

They have managed to keep themselves in the fight for the constructors’ championship, and with four races to go are hot on the heels of McLaren for some silverware.

Most importantly, it appears that both of their drivers are performing at a high level and can reach the podium at every race weekend.

That’s more than can be said of their two closest rivals, with Sergio Perez and Oscar Piastri in particular struggling lately.

Ferrari drivers win multiple races for the first time since 2008

With Carlos Sainz’s vital Mexico City Grand Prix victory, Ferrari have kept themselves within touching distance of McLaren at the front of the pack.

All they need to do is outscore them by just over seven points per race to ensure that Maranello secures its first major trophy in 16 years.

However, securing some silverware isn’t the only thing that has been on a lengthy draught, with another statistic being shattered this past weekend.

Both Ferrari drivers have won multiple races in a season for the first time since 2008 – when Kimi Raikkonen and Felipe Massa drove for the team.

They claimed the constructors’ that year too, and watched on as Massa heartbreakingly lost his maiden title at the final corner of his home race.

Can Ferrari win the constructors’ championship in 2024?

Based on current form, it appears that the Scuderia may have the fastest car and two of the most in-form drivers on the grid.

They have been able to churn out consistently impressive results, and landed themselves in a position to win a world championship having been ignored for much of the year.

They may be the pracning horse, but this year they have played the role of the dark horse better, and it could yet get even better for them.

Pressure is mounting on McLaren and Red Bull in the drivers’ championship, which may divert their attention from their constructors’ efforts.

If that turns out to be the case, then Ferrari have a fantastic opportunity to pounce on that weakness, and end another draught.
