Formula 1 teams are known for having special liveries on their cars for special occasions, and the US Grand Prix is no exception.

Haas have already shown off a specific livery for what will be their home race, having traditionally done so for the past few years.

Aston Martin made tweaks because of a sponsorship initiative to their car, while McLaren is also planning a one-off special given they also have a lot of influence in the US.

But there is one team that will have a special livery to commemorate a sponsorship deal that has caught the eye of fans on social media, particularly due to its similarities to another team on the grid.

Alpine show off ‘Indiana Jones’ tribute livery for US GP

As part of their partnership with Microsoft and Xbox, for the US GP Alpine will be running a special ‘Indiana Jones’ livery to commemorate a new game release.

Both the car and race suits will be draped in the orange livery that takes after the iconic colour scheme in the films, which will also include ancient maps and red travel routes that are showcased in the film series.

In the build-up to the race weekend, the team will tour historic landmarks to commemorate the release including Texas, Las Vegas, the Bonneville Salt Flats, and Monument Valley, before reaching the track.

Fans on social media have reacted by noticing the similarities of the livery to McLaren’s given it will also be orange with the black highlights on the side pods.

Others have also said that it is one of the best liveries yet, with user ‘amir.faisal’ on Instagram noting that it is “THE RETURN OF MCLAREN RENAULT”

Another post took a dig at the team, stating: “Bro really thought looking like McLaren would make them perform like McLaren.”

Some fans also pointed out that it was their favourite of the special liveries rolled out by Alpine this year, after the Deadpool versus Wolverine edition from Belgian GP: “Alpine going crazy with the liveries this year.”

James Vowles explains why Alpine still has a ‘question mark’ over future

Heading into the final six races of the season, there is a lot of speculation over the future of Alpine and what it means after parent company Renault ditched their in-house engine operation.

Alpine is expected to switch to Mercedes engines from the 2026 season, thereby turning them into a customer team whose engines rival them in the car market.

James Vowles believes the change could mean an uncertain future for the Enstone-based squad, given they no longer have any commitments to F1’s future.

Alpine heads into the final six races in a bid to finish ahead of Williams and Haas in seventh for the Constructors Championship.
