On Friday morning, Formula 1 announced an extension to the Monaco Grand Prix which will see the grid continue to race on the streets of the principality through until 2035.

In recent years, the race has become a sort of procession, with the narrow streets of the circuit offering a slim amount of overtaking opportunities as the F1 cars have become wider as the regulations have evolved.

It still remains as a prestigious event for drivers. Lando Norris recalled his win at Monaco in 2025 as the only time in his F1 career that he got emotional, given its stature in the sport as such a legendary track.

The Monaco Grand Prix is part of the Triple Crown of motorsport, a collection of three iconic races that also includes the 24 Hours of Le Mans and the Indianapolis 500. Graham Hill is currently the only driver to have achieved the feat in the history of all three races.
