Some Formula 1 seasons have been something of a procession, especially when champions dominate the grid. That is how Esteban Ocon feels about Sebastian Vettel’s time with Red Bull.

The German won four consecutive titles between 2010 and 2013 with the Milton Keynes-based outfit. Vettel edged Fernando Alonso in 2010 and 2012 in tense championship battles, and enjoyed utter dominance in 2011 and 2013.

His final title, in particular, was damning, winning the final nine races in a row on his way to becoming a four-time champion. Helmut Marko thinks Vettel should have won five, but the change in regulations and a tough spell at Ferrari ended those aspirations.

Nevertheless, Vettel was a force in the early 2010s, with not many having an answer to his incredible speed and natural talent. It was an era that was also not too popular among fans, as Ocon can attest to.

Esteban Ocon says Sebastian Vettel made Formula 1 ‘so boring’ at Red Bull

In total, Vettel won 34 out of the 77 races between 2010 and 2013, displaying utter dominance and showing why he is regarded as one of the greatest drivers of all time.

Marko even believes Vettel was more ‘intellectual’ than Max Verstappen and more ‘detail-oriented’ at Red Bull.

The German did have some regret about his career, as Vettel admitted he did not enjoy the moment as much, due to the relentless schedule in F1. However, he still made his mark on the sport, even if he was not the most liked figure during his years of dominance.

Haas drivers Ocon and Ollie Bearman sat down with F1’s official YouTube channel to watch back some iconic moments from F1. Vettel’s title win in India in 2013 was featured.

Bearman is a huge fan of Vettel, having grown up watching him at Red Bull and Ferrari. He said: “This is what I remember growing up watching. Vettel winning every single race.”

His teammate did not have as fond memories of the German, as he remarked: “I mean, I love Seb, but he was making it so boring at the time.

“Seb, you know how much I love you, but, in front of the TV was quite boring, mate. You were winning every race with 20 seconds.” Bearman then said: “That car was mega,” about the RB9, which Vettel used to win 13 races that season.
