‘Disappointed’ F1 star was left absolutely furious in the media pen after Austrian Grand Prix qualifying

Austrian Grand Prix qualifying was a disappointing affair for some drivers as they were left either off the pace or outside of the top ten places.

Yuki Tsunoda dropped out of Q1 at Red Bull’s home race after a shocking qualifying exit, in which the Japanese driver was only two tenths off the time set by Max Verstappen in the first part of the session.

Carlos Sainz also suffered his third Q1 exit in a row at the Spielberg circuit, with the Spanish driver blaming it on damage that was impacting the balance on his Williams.

Several other drivers were also left annoyed with their performances due to the temperatures in Austria, one of whom was Racing Bulls star Isack Hadjar, who was very unhappy when he made it back to the media pen, according to Rosanna Tennant when speaking on the BBC Chequered Flag podcast.

Hadjar has impressed so far this season with his results, having caught the eye of a few in the F1 paddock, including Le Mans legend Tom Kristensen.

But the Racing Bulls driver suffered a difficult session, with him out-qualified by teammate Liam Lawson and starting the race down in P13.

Hadjar was unhappy when he returned to the media pen to conduct interviews according to Tennant.

“Another driver who didn’t make it through to the final part of qualifying was Isack Hadjar,” said Tennant.

“He was so disappointed that he actually swore when he was being interviewed by a journalist in the media pen earlier on. I think he’ll be even more annoyed that his teammate Liam Lawson starts ahead.”

Hadjar has only been out-qualified by Lawson twice this year now, with the Frenchman currently 7-2 up on the New Zealander since he joined as his teammate two races into the season.

The Racing Bulls driver has so far finished ahead of his teammate at every race of the season, so that could change during the Austrian GP if he does not get a good start.

Hadjar will be looking to score decent points for Racing Bulls now that they face threats from Sauber and Haas in the Constructors’ Championship.
