David Croft would relish the prospect of Red Bull designer Adrian Newey linking up with Lewis Hamilton at Ferrari.
It’s already been confirmed that Hamilton is leaving Mercedes at the end of the season to join the Scuderia for 2025, replacing Carlos Sainz.
And Sky Sports F1 commentator Croft has talked up the possibility of Hamilton and Frederic Vasseur luring Newey to Maranello too.
Newey’s RB19 shattered records last season as Max Verstappen romped to a third consecutive world championship.
Red Bull won 22 out of 23 races, the best return in a single season going by both outright volume and percentage.
The RB20 made a similarly imperious start to the new campaign in Bahrain last weekend, with Verstappen leading home a one-two by more than 22 seconds.

David Croft wants Adrian Newey alongside Lewis Hamilton at Ferrari
Speaking on the Sky Sports F1 podcast, Croft suggested that Hamilton’s move to Ferrari could be what persuades Newey to join the Italian marquee.
The 65-year-old revealed at the end of last year that he’s rejected three approaches from the team during his career.
Asked by colleague Naomi Schiff about the possibility of a Ferrari-Hamilton-Newey triumvirate, Croft said: “I would love to see that. I don’t know if Lewis has had a chat with Adrian Newey or not, but if he had the chance to get Adrian Newey to go there…
“Ferrari have been trying to get Adrian Newey for the last few years, and it hasn’t quite worked out for whatever reason.
“With the situation as it is at Red Bull at the moment, is now a time that Adrian Newey thinks is a good time to go?”
Newey and Verstappen both targeted
Newey has been part of 12 constructors’-championship-winning seasons over the course of a storied F1 career.
After delivering five titles in six seasons for Williams between 1992 and 1997 and helping McLaren claim glory back-to-back seasons at the end of the decade, he moved to Red Bull midway through the noughties.
His first golden era with the Milton Keynes outfit came between 2010 and 2013, when he masterminded four straight title-winners for Sebastian Vettel.
Red Bull could potentially lose two vital figures ahead of 2025, with Verstappen apparently the ‘hottest candidate’ to replace Hamilton at Mercedes.
