David Coulthard has signed up to headline a new Formula 1 podcast by Global, which promises insightful race recaps from the 2026 season and ‘blockbuster’ interviews.
The 2026 F1 season is now just around the corner, with the pinnacle of motorsport entering a new chapter in its history. Formula 1 has introduced the biggest regulatory overhaul so far, with new engine, aerodynamic, chassis and tyre rules all coming into force at once this year.
Never before has Formula 1 overhauled the rulebook to such an extent as it has this year, as the 2026 F1 regulations introduce engines featuring a near 50/50 split between electric and combustion power. The cars are also now smaller and lighter, in a bid to improve the racing.
A row has even erupted before the first round of the 2026 season in Australia on March 6-8, as rival teams are lobbying the FIA over fears that Mercedes found a loophole in the 2026 F1 engine rules. Even Red Bull are sounding the alarm, after they failed to copy the engine trick.

David Coulthard will headline a new F1 podcast with Will Buxton and Naomi Schiff
Global now promises VIP access to the biggest storylines from the 2026 F1 season with the launch of its new podcast, Up To Speed. The twice-weekly podcast will shine a light on the rivalries and behind-the-scenes moments that shape the start of a new chapter in F1 history.
The first episode of the Up To Speed podcast will drop on the Global Player and on all major platforms on February 16, with insight from 13-time Grand Prix winner Coulthard. The Scot will be joined by Will Buxton, Sky Sports F1 pundit Naomi Schiff and presenter Jolie Sharpe.
The Up to Speed podcast will air episodes on Mondays, with unfiltered reaction to the race weekends, and Thursdays, with ‘blockbuster interviews’ and paddock politics. Fans can also get involved with the Thursday episodes with the Up To Speed: The F1 Agony Aunt segment.
Looking forward to the launch of Up to Speed, host David Coulthard said: “Formula 1’s audience continues to grow every year, and with so much momentum in the sport, this feels like the perfect time to launch a podcast show like this.
“It’s a huge season for Formula 1, and we want to bring fans right into the heart of it. Expect big interviews, sharp analysis, and above all, a genuine passion and love for racing. We can’t wait to get started and for you to join us!”
Racing driver and expert Sky Sports F1 pundit Naomi Schiff added: “Being at races week in, week out gives us a real sense of what’s happening beyond the headlines.
“This podcast is about sharing those conversations, moments, and perspectives with fans, and exploring what matters on and off the track. It’s honest, engaging and focused on the stories, questions and topics fans care about.”
