Franco Colapinto has proven Williams’ decision to make him a Formula 1 driver to be emphatically correct within a few races.
His speed and consistency has been miles better than anything Logan Sargeant showed in nearly two years at the team.
The Argentine fell just short of scoring points in consecutive races as he finished in 10th place just behind Sergio Perez.
Without a contract for the 2025 season yet, some teams may want to start taking a look at him as a serious future option if he continues to show so much promise.

Damon Hill happy to see ‘another impressive weekend’ from Franco Colapinto
The most impressive aspect about Colapinto in Singapore was his performance against teammate Alex Albon.
He has been very close to him in pace since joining the team and was finally able to get the better of him at the Singapore Grand Prix before Albon retired.
Former Formula 1 champion Damon Hill knows a thing or two about extracting good results from Williams cars having claimed a championship with them in 1996.

He has been closely following the progress of Colapinto since joining the Grove-based outfit with very little testing mileage.
The 21-year-old was thrown in at the deep end, but has proven he can swim – leading to praise from Hill in an Instagram story.
“Another impressive weekend from Franco,” he said.
Does Colapinto have any chance at a 2025 F1 drive?
Williams have no available openings for 2025, meaning that there is no chance of him remaining with the team that he currently drives for.
After his first three races, and a positive taste for Formula 1 machinery, Colapinto will not want to return to Formula 2 despite it being an option.
Sauber may have a seat alongside Nico Hulkenberg available for next year, but there are also many other candidates for what is a highly coveted drive.

The only other cockpit that remains untaken is at Visa Cash App RB alongside Yuki Tsunoda, but Liam Lawson is probably best position for that chance.
If he continues to perform as he is, although 2025 may come too soon for him to find an opportunity, he will be a player in the 2026 driver market.
