Former Formula 1 world champion Damon Hill has shared his reaction to the proposed new circuit in Qiddiya in Saudi Arabia.
The Saudi Arabian Grand Prix takes place on Saturday with Sergio Perez hoping to repeat his race-winning performance from 2023.
Posting on Instagram, Hill has given a short evaluation of one of the wildest tracks ever imagined that could join the calendar in the coming years.
Hill reacts to new Qiddiya F1 track in Saudi Arabia
The Saudi Arabian Grand Prix first joined the Formula 1 calendar in 2021.
All three races have been held at the Jeddah Corniche Circuit, with Lewis Hamilton, Max Verstappen and Perez the three drivers to have stood on the top step of the podium.

It’s a much faster circuit than Bahrain with tyre degradation less of an issue and precision on the rarely-used street track the most important aspect of the race.
However, it was always going to be a temporary venue with Saudi Arabia keen to build a much more exciting track.
Yesterday, they revealed the first details of a new motorsport complex in Qiddiya and Hill has now given his verdict on Saudi Arabia’s newest offering.
The AI-generated images look amazing, with one aspect of the track standing out in particular.
Whether the real thing looks as spectacular as the renders is an entirely different matter.
Qiddiya Speed Park could be newest Formula 1 venue
Posting on Instagram, Hill reacted to the pictures of the Qiddiya venue in Saudi Arabia and simply said: “Next level. Literally!”
Hill is referring to the incredible first corner which involves a 20-storey climb for the drivers on track.
It looks like something out of a Mario Kart game given the structure the circuit appears to be built on.
The circuit is part of a much bigger construction project located about 30 miles from the capital Riyadh.
The Qiddiya track has been designed by the famous Herman Tilke and former driver Alex Wurz.
He’s not the only driver working on a new potential F1 circuit with Giancarlo Fisichella involved in a project in Zanzibar.
The F1 calendar has expanded quickly over the past few years and is already getting incredibly congested.
While Qiddiya would replace the existing race in Jeddah, other circuits – such as Turkey – are bidding to return to the calendar and that could put even more pressure on teams.
