Red Bull Racing team principal Christian Horner has admitted he would be interested in bringing Lando Norris to the team one day.
McLaren star Lando Norris is still waiting for his first race win in Formula 1 and will hope he can achieve that goal in 2024.
Speaking on Season 6 of Drive to Survive, Red Bull chief Christian Horner shared just how he loves the 24-year-old.
Horner admits he’s interested in Norris during Drive to Survive
The turnaround in the performance of McLaren during the 2023 season was one of the big talking points of the latest series of Netflix’s hit show.
Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri were at the back of the grid in Bahrain last year but were fighting for podiums at the end of the season.
The only team that stopped them from winning races was Red Bull, with Max Verstappen dominating the competition.
However, his teammate Sergio Perez didn’t fare as well and struggled in the middle of the campaign.
While McLaren were struggling, Horner admitted that he was interested in Norris as a potential option in the future.
It would be an audacious move to sign the 24-year-old and Norris addressed rumours about his future during Drive to Survive when things weren’t going well.

Norris one of Formula 1’s most exciting drivers
Speaking about the British driver, Horner said: “I think Lando’s one of the most talented drivers on the grid. In the right car, he would be a winning driver. No doubt about that.
“Can his career take another year of being in the doldrums? A driver’s career has a finite amount of time to it and he needs to make the right decisions for him at the end of the day.
“We’d certainly be interested in him. if he’s delivering, he’s not going to be short of choices. He’s got to make sure he makes the right choice.”
The Formula 1 driver market in 2024 was kicked into overdrive with the news that Lewis Hamilton would be moving to Ferrari in 2025.
McLaren, however, can already breathe a sigh of relief because if Mercedes or Horner at Red Bull were interested in Norris, they know he’s already signed up to a new contract.
It means he’ll likely be driving alongside Piastri for the foreseeable future unless someone makes a huge offer. That may end up appealing to Norris eventually if the wait for a first race win continues.
