Charles Leclerc’s 2025 Formula 1 season has been fairly anonymous from the outside as Ferrari languish behind their competitors at the front of the field.
They could have been in for a better result at the Canadian Grand Prix, but were let down by a sloppy start to the weekend, costing them a chance at victory.
Leclerc sits fifth in the drivers’ championship, but is 32 points behind George Russell and 25 points ahead of teammate Lewis Hamilton.
It’s reflective of where Ferrari’s car has been on average. Not once have they looked like contending for victory, and it doesn’t feel like they will soon either.
Ferrari are set to rush one crucial update and are eager to add more performance to their car ahead of an important portion of the European season.
Leclerc is ‘stunned’ by everyone at Ferrari and the feeling that those within the team no longer believe either title is within reach in 2025. Perhaps the upgrades up their sleeve are good.

Charles Leclerc has been facing one ‘extreme’ Ferrari problem costing him up to 15 seconds per race
Leclerc is now taking action at Ferrari and has been offering his services for Pirelli tyre tests in a bid to get ahead of his rivals for next year.
The 2026 F1 regulations are going to bring some of the biggest changes in the sport’s history to fruition, and the running order could be completely jumbled.
But first, they have 14 more races to focus on during the 2025 Formula 1 season, and there’s still prize money up for grabs in the constructors’ standings.
Unfortunately, Autoracer.it reports that Leclerc has been suffering from an ‘extreme’ floor plank problem, forcing him to lift and costing him up to 15 seconds per race.
Looking at many of the races, it’s clear that he might have been able to contend for victory at some circuits without those issues. It needs addressing soon.

Should Ferrari give up on the 2025 Formula 1 season already?
It would be easy to suggest that with a lot more at stake for the future, giving up on 2025 is a good idea for the Maranello-based outfit.
There is no silverware to fight for, and they have a steady partnership for next year. It means that their stable working relationship will continue, and the platform has already been set.
Leclerc will have been alarmed by Hamilton’s Ferrari data after it suggested that they may have been slower than Williams in FP2 in Montreal.
However, they found improvements as the weekend progressed, and they will be hoping to replicate that feat at the Austrian Grand Prix.
If they can start from a better baseline, they could even find themselves in with a shout of a first victory of the season, giving their fans something to cheer on.
