Both Toto Wolff and Christian Horner’s attempts to acquire equity in Alpine are being taken seriously, and the two have an advantage over other bidders.
Horner has eyed a stake in Alpine for several months now, even putting together a consortium to help with the financial aspect of the move.
By acquiring the 24% stake in Alpine from Otro Capital, Horner is aiming to be Alpine’s majority owner, eventually negotiating with Renault for a percentage of their equity.

Alpine giving heavy consideration to Toto Wolff and Christian Horner’s bids due to F1 expertise and connections
According to Planet F1, both Christian Horner and Toto Wolff’s bids for Otro Capital’s stake in Alpine are being given serious consideration.
Both Horner and Wolff’s experience in F1 and connections within the sport are reportedly of great interest to Alpine, and will be a factor in their sale consideration.

“This would mark a significant return for Otro Capital, whose high-profile investors include Hollywood actor Ryan Reynolds and golfer Rory McIlroy, amongst others, having paid €200 million for the stake three years ago.”
“Of the bids on the table, both Horner’s and Wolff’s bids are believed to be of considerable interest to the Renault Group due to the level of understanding of F1 they possess, as well as existing connections and opportunities.”
