Lance Stroll’s antics behind the scenes at Aston Martin are now affecting the general morale of the team.
A report from The Independent has shared more details on the struggles with the team at the moment.
No team on the grid has seen their form drop as quickly as Aston Martin’s this season.
Fernando Alonso achieved six podiums in the first eight races and was pushing Max Verstappen at every Grand Prix.
The 42-year-old showed why he’s a two-time world champion and was determined to add to his tally of race wins, having last stood on the top step of the podium ten years ago in Barcelona.
However, during the mid-season break, Aston Martin have not just stood still in their development but gone backwards.
Ferrari, Mercedes and McLaren have overtaken them in terms of pace and now scoring points every weekend is becoming a struggle.
The morale at Aston Martin appears to be at a real low and Lance Stroll’s antics aren’t helping matters.

The 25-year-old has been outclassed by Alonso on the track this season which is no surprise given his pedigree.
However, even when his car was the second-fastest on the grid, he was still only battling for the minor points every race.
Stroll antics see Aston Martin’s morale slump
The report from the Independent explains that Aston Martin’s upgrades have not had the desired effect during this season.
Alonso has only recorded one podium finish since Canada while Lance Stroll has only scored points on four occasions since his home race.
The Independent went on to say that Stroll’s antics, which include pushing his trainer after a disappointing qualifying performance and then sulking in the media area and bringing down morale at Aston Martin.
Considering that his father Lawrence Stroll is the chairman of the team, it’s hard to see Stroll Jr. leaving the team any time soon.
He’s been confirmed as Alonso’s teammate for 2024 although if his heart isn’t in the sport then that might be time to bow out.
It will all depend on how Aston Martin’s development is going for next year and how fast their car is going to be.
Alonso won’t settle for another season of being a midfield runner and Stroll needs to discover more pace to justify his place in the team.
