Red Bull appear lost with the development of their 2025 F1 car after struggling at the Chinese Grand Prix.
No matter who is in their second car besides Max Verstappen, they seem to have a nightmare in the other cockpit.
Red Bull cannot compete in the constructors’ championship by relying on only one car. There has to be a better middle ground for their drivers.
The idea that Liam Lawson is at risk of losing his seat after just two races is almost laughable because he has the talent to cut it at the top level, he just doesn’t have the right resources.
Christian Horner won’t accept that Lawson is slow due to experience, or his lack of it. Verstappen showed early in his career that being fast is all that matters.
Verstappen’s camp may be having behind-the-scenes talks with Red Bull’s rivals over a possible move after their car’s poor start to 2025. They may be losing belief in their project ahead of the 2026 F1 regulations.

Red Bull ‘don’t know’ how to fix their 2025 F1 car, Liam Lawson will be sad to hear it
There are still 22 Formula 1 races to go this season, offering plenty of time for the Milton Keynes-based outfit to correct their issues.
Michael Schmidt doesn’t believe that any amount of time will help them. He thinks that Red Bull are lost and do not know how to improve their current car.
“They have this attitude that won’t change. But again, you have to know what you should change, and apparently they don’t know,” he said.
We were told during the tests [that] everything is much better than last year, there are still a few small balance issues, but they are somehow easier to control.
“You understand the car, but now we’re coming to Shanghai and apparently you don’t understand the car after all. Sometimes it’s good, sometimes not so good.”
If they don’t understand their own car, they cannot expect Lawson to. The best thing for his career currently may be a demotion back to Visa Cash App Racing Bulls, where he is more comfortable.
Why Liam Lawson will be devastated to hear that Red Bull ‘don’t know’ how to fix their 2025 F1 car
It’s clear that a car which has the reigning champion contending for victories in it, cannot afford to be knocked out in Q1 every weekend.
In other words, Lawson doesn’t have time on his side. While Red Bull have no solution to his problems, he may suffer.
Verstappen isn’t happy with a Yuki Tsunoda and Lawson swap because he fears that it could ruin the 23-year-old’s career.
Tsunoda does have a lot more experience on hand though, and has been able to lead the sister team for two years since Pierre Gasly’s departure.
The sooner Red Bull can find a fix, the better. But for now, Lawson appears to be in a very tricky situation with little light at the end of the tunnel.
