Red Bull Racing driver Max Verstappen wasn’t in the best mood when he jumped out of the car after the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix.
David Coulthard was conducting the post-race interviews immediately after the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, but Max Verstappen wasn’t in a talking mood.
Asked about the penalty he received for his first corner move on Oscar Piastri, Verstappen said, “Yeah. I’m going keep it quite short. I just want to say a big thank you to the fans here in Jeddah.
“It’s been a great weekend. I love the track and, yeah, the rest is what it is. I’m looking forward to Miami. So I’ll see you there.”
| RANK | DRIVER | TEAM | POINTS |

Verstappen didn’t get away with cutting the first corner after going side-by-side with Piastri at the beginning of the race.
It earned him a five-second time penalty, which when it was served during his only pit stop, handed the lead, and ultimately victory, to the McLaren star.
The 14-point swing between Verstappen and Piastri winning the race has handed the 24-year-old the lead in the drivers’ championship for the first time in his career.
Verstappen’s mood would have been vastly improved had the stewards determined that his first lap excursion off the track was just a racing incident, and Williams driver Alex Albon might wish that they made that call too for one unlikely reason.

Alex Albon jokes about Max Verstappen penalty at the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix
Albon was being interviewed by Viaplay after the race in the media pen and revealed, “I’m actually flying with Max today, another step again!”
The journalist asked, “Another step in his private jet. I don’t think Max will be very happy today after the penalty that he got.”
Albon replied, “Where did he finish? I have not paid any attention.”
When he’s told Verstappen finished second, he continued: “How did he lose first?”
The interviewer continued, “He got a five-second time penalty for leaving the track and gaining an advantage after what happened with Oscar in turn one.”
Albon jokingly replied: “I’ll go to bed then, I’ll sleep on that plane!”
The Thai driver’s response earned him plenty of praise from fans, with one stating, “I love this guy, he is hilarious.”
Another fan agreed and replied, “Alex is so likeable,” while one comment simply stated, “Alex is hilarious.”
“I love him, he’s so funny,” was the reaction of another fan, with one reply comically stating, “We send you prayers and best wishes Alex Albon.”
“Alex just realised that Max is in a bad mood,” the final response suggested, although Verstappen was more open to talking to the press later in the evening.

Williams had a very strong weekend, with Carlos Sainz converting his P6 start position into eighth, and Albon coming home immediately behind him.
The pair had to work in tandem to avoid losing out to Racing Bulls rookie Isack Hadjar, who was right on Albon’s tail during the final stages of the race.

However, all the talk was about Verstappen and Piastri, with Norris missing out on being part of the conversation to win the race after his costly mistake in qualifying.
Verstappen was very positive about Piastri following the race, praising the influence of his manager Mark Webber behind the scenes.
He’s playing a similar role to Jos Verstappen in the Dutchman’s camp, and it’ll be interesting to see how they each respond to Sunday’s race in Miami.
