Visa Cash App RB driver Yuki Tsunoda has given his initial verdict on the team’s 2024 car ahead of the season beginning in Bahrain.
Daniel Ricciardo and Yuki Tsunoda will be hoping the closer ties between the RB team and Red Bull can help them improve on their eighth-place finish in the Constructors’ Championship last year.
Speaking to the team’s official YouTube channel, Tsunoda provided a quick evaluation of the team’s latest creation.
Tsunoda gives verdict on RB’s 2024 car
Pre-testing began on Wednesday morning in Sakhir with 10 cars immediately taking to the track.
However, that wasn’t the first time that the teams were running their new cars.
Aside from Williams – who waited until they arrived in Bahrain to do their first testing run – the other nine manufacturers were keen to give their new machines a runout.
There’s a lot of excitement about the steps forward that every team has taken.
That includes Red Bull, who despite dominating the field in 2023, have made a few drastic changes to their car to maintain their domination over the rest of the grid.
That could benefit RB given their close relationship and Tsunoda has given a positive verdict on their 2024 car.

While Eddie Jordan is unsure whether he’s strictly on the grid for his talent, Tsunoda did impress last season.
He’s never had a car that’s been capable of challenging for podiums, but that might finally change this year given the VCARB 01 shares quite a few similarities with last year’s RB19.
Tsunoda has make or break season ahead of him
After driving the car for the first time, Tsunoda said: “First run with the car 01. Feeling great on the track.”
It’s not really a surprise to hear that Tsunoda is being positive about the car at this early stage.
RB will be glad Tsunoda has given a constructive verdict on their 2024 car, but regardless of the speed of the VCARB 01, he has plenty to prove.
Tsunoda is in the majority of the F1 grid that knows their contracts are running out at the end of the year.
He will know that Liam Lawson is looming in the background in the Red Bull driver academy and will be waiting for any small slip-up to try and take his chance.
Tsunoda will also know that Sergio Perez is under pressure and if the Japanese driver can impress, then all of a sudden he may put himself in line for a promotion.
The Japanese driver has a big opportunity ahead of him and in his fourth season in F1, he now needs to step up and perform.
