Ferrari chairman John Elkann may have already provided an update on the futures of drivers Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz.
There was a good chance that Ferrari might be at the centre of the upcoming chaos expected in the Formula 1 driver’s market.
However, the 47-year-old, speaking via Formula Passion, insists his two drivers will be going nowhere at the end of the 2024 season.
Both Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz see their current deals end at the conclusion of the 2024 season.
The Monegasque driver has the potential to be a future world champion and Ferrari are desperate to tie him down to a new long-term deal.
There are already suggestions that it’s nearly agreed and could be announced alongside the car’s launch next month.
Carlos Sainz is less certain to remain with the team despite wanting to continue his journey with Ferrari.
The team are said to be shopping around and have a liking for McLaren star Lando Norris.
John Ferrari chairman John Elkann has said that Leclerc and Sainz will continue as Ferrari drivers beyond 2024.
It’s unknown how long their new contracts will be but both drivers will be glad they don’t have to worry about their futures with the season starting in just over a month.

Elkann says Leclerc and Sainz will stay with Ferrari
Speaking about the two drivers, Elkann said: “Sainz and Leclerc? They certainly remain. The season was disappointing because we finished third in the championship and almost finished second.
“But in the last quarter of the championship, we were also able to compete with Red Bull and we achieved many poles.
“Now we have to take all this to push again in the next championships to convert more poles into victories.”
Leclerc and Sainz appear to be a very balanced partnership and Elkann will be keen for Ferrari to give them the best chance of winning races and potentially titles going forward.
Catching Red Bull is ultimately the task in that respect and certainly won’t be easy.
Ferrari might have to wait until the regulation changes in 2026 before they can convincingly have a go at winning a championship.
Whether both drivers are happy to be that patient is another matter.
