Franco Colapinto has produced some memorable moments during his career in Formula 1 so far, and F1 Oversteer has taken a look at some of his best races, including his debut in the sport, as well as his first points finish.
The Argentine racing driver has been on the F1 grid since midway through the 2024 season, when he was promoted from the Williams Driver Academy to replace Logan Sargeant as an interim for Carlos Sainz.
Colapinto contested nine races in the 2024 season, delivering a string of impressive performances that earned him a move to Alpine for 2025, where he initially joined as a reserve before being promoted to a full-time seat from the Imola Grand Prix onwards, replacing Jack Doohan.
Where did Franco Colapinto make his Formula 1 debut?

Franco Colapinto made his F1 debut at the 2024 Italian Grand Prix with Williams, becoming the first Argentine driver to compete in the sport in 23 years.
He stepped into the FW46 on short notice after the team decided to part ways with Logan Sargeant following a heavy crash at Zandvoort.
The weekend at Monza thrust the Argentine into the spotlight, but Colapinto handled the pressure with remarkable composure. Despite an error in qualifying that left him P18 on the grid, his race pace was immediately competitive.
He managed his tyres effectively over the 53-lap distance, executing several clean overtakes to climb the order.
Colapinto finished his debut race in 12th, finishing ahead of several more experienced veterans. His performance was hailed by Williams boss James Vowles, who highlighted that finishing within 13 seconds of teammate Alex Albon on debut was an exceptional achievement.
Franco Colapinto scored his first points at the 2024 Azerbaijan Grand Prix
Colapinto didn’t have to wait long at all to score his first points in F1. In what was only his second-ever race weekend at the 2024 Azerbaijan Grand Prix, the youngster grabbed his first top 10 finish in F1.
After a tricky Friday where he scraped the barriers multiple times in practice, he bounced back to reach Q3 in qualifying, out-qualifying his much more experienced teammate, Albon.
Starting from P8, Colapinto settled into a good rhythm, even holding off a charging Lewis Hamilton for a significant portion of the Grand Prix.
In a chaotic final few laps, Colapinto crossed the line in P8 after benefiting from a crash between Sainz and Sergio Perez ahead.
This result earned him four points and marked him as the first Argentine to score points in F1 since Carlos Reutemann in 1982.

Franco Colapinto has produced some impressive overtakes during his F1 career
Since making the jump to F1, Colapinto has consistently shown that he belongs at the pinnacle of single-seater motorsport.
While his 2024 stint with Williams was defined by raw speed, his transition to Alpine in 2025 showcased his resilience.
Stepping into the A525 mid-season at Imola, he faced the challenge of proving himself in a car that was clearly the backmarker of the grid.
However, he managed to find his feet relatively quickly, recording strong finishes in Monaco and Canada, where he finished P13 on both occasions and narrowly missed out on points in a difficult car.
Perhaps his most gritty performance came at the 2024 United States Grand Prix. Starting from P15, Colapinto utilised an aggressive strategy and bold overtakes to finish P10 and secure his second points finish in F1.
It was this ability to snatch results from difficult starting positions that ultimately convinced Alpine to secure his services on a multi-year deal.
