Driving for Red Bull appears to be the dream of nearly every Formula 1 driver right now, and RB star Yuki Tsunoda admits he would love to earn a promotion to the sport’s fastest team in the future.
There is already speculation about Sergio Perez’s future at Red Bull with his contract expiring at the end of the season.
Speaking after pre-season testing in Bahrain, via Formu1a.uno, Tsunoda shared his admiration for the team and his aspiration for his F1 career.
Tsunoda admits he wants to drive for Red Bull in the future
There are plenty of drivers heading into the 2024 F1 season under pressure, knowing that they need to do enough to earn another contract either at their current team or elsewhere on the grid.
Both Visa Cash App RB drivers – Yuki Tsunoda and Daniel Ricciardo – only signed one-year extensions during 2023.
It means they need to perform to the best of their abilities to make sure they’re still in the paddock in 2025.
The experienced Australian has already admitted that he wants to finish his career at Red Bull after spending several successful years working there in the past.
He didn’t blow Tsunoda away on his return to the grid last year and his unfortunately timed hand injury didn’t help matters either.
The Japanese driver improved a lot in 2023 and earned plaudits for his drive in Abu Dhabi at the end of last season which nearly saw AlphaTauri leapfrog Williams in the Constructors’ Championship.

Tsunoda has now said that he would love to drive for Red Bull in the future given their dominance over the rest of the grid.
However, he’ll be aware of just how many options the team can consider should they decide to part ways with Sergio Perez.
Red Bull the dream destination for RB drivers
Speaking about his sister team, Tsunoda said: “Red Bull is the strongest team at the moment, and as an F1 driver, you want to go to the strongest team.
“My relationship with them has been strong since I was 16. In the future, I would like to be in that seat.”
Tsunoda will have to have the best season of his Formula 1 career so far to put himself in line for a Red Bull drive in the future.
The 23-year-old has only finished in the top five of a Grand Prix once in his career and has to take advantage of the RB looking quicker than it has done for years.
Tsunoda’s ultimate test will be to finish above Ricciardo, but will also know Liam Lawson is lurking in the background having been promised a seat in F1 sooner rather than later.
